The circular № 2

Dear colleagues!

The Consultative Committee of the Finno-Ugric peoples confirms carrying out on November, 17-18th, 2009 in Syktyvkar (the Komi Republic) of the international conference «Functioning of Finno-Ugric languages in modern conditions».

The following questions are supposed to discuss at the conference:
- The analysis of maintenance of the language rights in educational system;
- The modern methods and technologies of training Finno-Ugric and Samoyed languages;
- Dialogue of languages as the mechanism of formation of tolerant behavior.

Within the limits of the conference plenary session, work of sections concerning language education with experts of preschool, general, higher and additional education, and also with representatives of regional authorities are planned.

Applications for participation are accepted till October, 10th, 2009. For the purpose of formation of the program we ask to present till October, 15th, 2009 theses of participants. Theses of reports up to 2 pages (format А4) are accepted to the electronic addresses specified further in format Microsoft WORD 97/2000/XP, font Times New Roman (12), an interval – 1,5, footnotes – trailer. Languages of publications are Russian & English.

Number of delegations from the Finno-Ugric countries up to 4-5 persons; including 2-3 experts in the sphere of a language policy; 1 representative of authorities supervising questions of education.
Organizational payment for each participant from the Finno-Ugric countries is 50 euros. Food, transfer services are for the account of organizers of the conference.
